Charlie, Jason and Olivia – Summer Portraits

July 1, 2009

Late on Saturday afternoon I met up with Charlie, Jason and the very adventurous Olivia for some summer portraits. Nearby we have an amazing old airfield that is no longer in use. It provides some fantastic locations for photographs, from wide open runway space to overgrown grass and small woodlands areas.

Olivia had a field day running around and exploring all that was on offer – and at one point took it upon herself to explore some very tall grass. If it wasn’t for her pretty pink top we could have lost sight of her in there.

Here are some of my favourites from the session:

Tom and Carrie – Wedding at Gosfield Hall

May 19, 2009

Saturday dawned as a bright and blustery day, but this didn’t dampen the sense of excitement when Carrie, Lindsay and their Mum Kathie arrived at Gosfield Hall to get ready for the big day! Amongst a million hair pins and a suitcase of make up, the girls set about their excited preparations.

Gosfield Hall is a stunning Essex Wedding venue, with the most amazing and extremely large Bridal suite! (seriously it’s bigger than most people’s houses!) The stunning bridal bouqet was Orchids and Calla Lillies, made by the fantastic Tolly’s Flowers.

It was a lovely relaxed day, with guests travelling from as far away as the USA to join them and a real contented feel. You only have to watch Carrie and Tom together to see the total love and commitment between them. It’s in their eyes and smiles for each other.

Taking pictures with these two is a real treat, both of them can’t be serious for more than about two seconds, so there is always plenty of laughter and antics.

Here are just some of my favourites:

Toby and Maja – Engagement

May 15, 2009

Last weekend I travelled to Somerset to meet up with my brother and his fiancee Maja.

Toby and Maja are getting married in September, in Gdansk, Poland. From the pictures I have seen on line it’s a stunning old city, and the in side of the church jaw dropping.

It promises to be a great day and I am really looking forward to shooting their wedding pictures, although my Polish needs some extreme work before then!

Talking to Maja last week, I learnt a lot about weddings in Poland. They seem to start very late in the day, and go on all night! Some of the key celebrations taking place after midnight so I am sure it’s going to be a great night.

My brother is like me – not keen on being in front of the camera, so we spent lots of time messing about, another thing that happens when we get together. We did however manage to get some great shots and these are just some of my favourites:

Gemma and Claire – Beach portraits

May 5, 2009

At the weekend I had the absolute joy of photographing Gemma and Claire at Hopton on Sea, Norfolk.  These two knew exactly what they wanted and how to pose for the camera. It felt like a session for America’s Next Top Model!

Choosing my favourites was really hard, but I just love these images in black and white.

We had so much fun, Gemma and Claire you were real super model stars!

Anthea – Portraits

May 5, 2009

This session has been unwraps for weeks and I have been bursting to share it with you.

Anthea wanted a really special present for her partner Hector who is currently away in Japan for TWO YEARS!! Because my blog also links to Facebook and twitter we didn’t want Hector having any chance of a sneak preview, so I have had to wait to share these with you.

Anthea has just come back from a trip out to Japan to see Hector for a couple of weeks and I have the green light to share these photos from her session with you.

Anthea is a real ball of energy as anyone who attends her Jazzercise classes will tell you. This was altogether a more relaxed girls afternoon, lots of outfits, feathers and fun.

Anthea you were a dream to work with, hope you have a fab time in Japan with Hector.

So here’s a sneaky glimpse:

Emma and James Engagement Session

April 20, 2009

In complete contrast to Thursdays wedding, the sun was out brightly on Saturday for Emma and James’ engagement photos.

We made the best use of the fine weather and took Megan, Charlie and Dexter the dog to the park in Ely. What an amazing park area for kids, they could lose hours in there! (I could have lost hours there, all the play equipment was big enough for the big kids too!)

Emma and James are getting married in August and I am really excited to be shooting their wedding. It promises to be a really close intimate family day.

Here are some of my favourites from the weekend:

First Megan in action

And Charlie, eyes full of mischief

Not forgetting Dexter

And finally, but by no means least, Emma and James

Some high key love

Bright green grass

Sally and Jon Wedding

April 18, 2009

On Thursday, amongst the regular down pours of rain, there was a celebration going on at The Fennes in Essex.  The Fennes is a stunning Essex Wedding Venue, and Carlos and his team ensured that the day went without a hitch.

Sally and Jon where joined by close family and friends to celebrate their marriage, and spirits were soring even when I managed to get all the guests caught in the rain! (We were trying to dodge the rain and failed! Thank you everyone for at least trying to get a group shot outside!)

Glenn Mayes – Toastmaster and Master of Ceremonies – was a real help for me, keeping the bride and groom (and me) sheltered under an umbrella when we decided to brave the outside again for some pictures!  Thank you Glenn!

Sally had a stunning gown from Grace and Lace Bridal in Chelmsford and the amazing cream roses and flowers were from Nicola Ann Floral Designs.

It was a great day, here are a few of my favourites:
